Yes, so with a 7 (on the Enneagram) as a mother you go on all different kinds of crazy random adventures. So here goes.
We went to Ithaca, what kind of adventure is that you ask? Ohhhhhooo.
It started out normal enough. The drive was excruciatingly long. Times ten.
And yes, it was only an hour and an half......
We were planning to walk along the trails, see some familiar sights. Right? Simple enough. And then who should show up but mister rain*
So who would be crazy enough to walk through poring rain, with lightning and thunder striking very close together. Or, Maybe, at the same time.
I would, apparently.
Andy's like 'Lets shelter under this tree till it stops'
Dawn Says " Lets go back to the car'
I laugh at them and say 'It's only a little rain'**
Yeah, so who would listen to a crazy little kid?
Andy.
Soooo
Dawn went back to the car and Andy and I keep going, the ONLY people going the way of the path, not coming back.
Andy Got the awesome Idea of walking of the creek bed. To bad there was lightning right there. No, neither Andy nor I got struck. But we did decide to save creek walking until the storm passed. Or, at least, Lightened up.
Once it did, we walked along the creek, there were really cool rocks that people built cool patterns with (After seeing the waterfall Andy and I went back and built some)
The waterfall was amazing! It was just water, pouring down a fifty foot drop, maybe more, the sign said how tall it was but I don't think I can remember it. Andy said that in the winter an ice dome forms at the bottom of the waterfall, and he said we could go sometime in the winter (though with our luck it'll be in the middle of a blizzard)
Then we went back to the rocks and we both made a sculptor (Andy had to peel a little fun away from the experience by saying how much all the little rock pilings looked like tome stones.***)
And of course. What's an outing on a creek bed without looking for fossils?
I found something that I was highly sure was one, but I left it in dawns car because when we got back it was really late and the sensible part of my brain had gone to sleep.****
I took a picture of it, but it didn't really come out... Actually none of the pictures came out, since it was poring so hard (and we gave the camera to Dawn to take back to the car when she went, so when the rain stopped we had no camera.*****
Nothing much more happened at the creek, except we found some dynamite markings.
When we got back I was DRENCHED. ******
So thats the adventure portion of Ithaca, we also ran into some people we knew, and they showed us this little utopia place, but that doesn't involve more then 3 near death experiences, so I'll leave it out.
However, I do want to say, Ithaca is the best place for vegan food, the restaurant we went to had like everything in a vegan restaurant, right down to the mayonnaise.
*No... Mister Rain is not a person.....
**Little, meaning the description of big in the dictionary.
*** You'll find he's a bit morbid sometimes.
****Once something is in dawns car it never comes out
(Sorry to ruin the little thrill of terror, but the never coming out of the car thing doesn't apply to people. I am, indeed, out of the car.)
***** I couldn't upload the pictures onto here anyways, since my computer crashed a few days ago, so I'm using Dawns and she wont be to happy if random pictures appear on the computer.
******On the extreme end of that.
